Kington is a small market town and civil parish in the west of Herefordshire, lying on the River Arrow close to the Welsh border and in the shadow of Hergest Ridge. The town council is the first tier of local government here — this is where you'll find its meetings, minutes, finances and news.

About the town
Kington grew up in the 13th century as a wool-trading market town on an important drovers' road, at the point where the A44 crosses the River Arrow. It sits on the western side of Offa's Dyke, about two miles from the border with Wales, and its position on the edge of the hills is why so many waymarked long-distance footpaths pass through the town today, including the Offa's Dyke Path, the Mortimer Trail and the Herefordshire Trail.
